It was when Conor Oberst sat on stage and cried during one of his songs.
I think i fell in love with his music at that point.
He's so true to his natural form.
He refuses to abide by other people's techniques or rules.
He just kind of sings just to sing.
...Music for musics sake.
I urge you all to check out "Bright Eyes" if you havent heard of them..
Light a candle, turn all the lights off, and sit through the whole album
("Im wide awake and its morning")
truly is one of the greatest indie albums ever written.
P.S- This song is called "False Advertising"
Conor was so determined to not fake his way through life.
He demanded that things should be as they are,
and no one should pretend they are something they are not.
Right at the two minute mark, he states:
"If I could act like this was my real life and not some cage where ive been placed,
then, I could tell you the truth like i used to and not be afraid of sounding fake"
....At that moment, one of the horn players messes up.
to the point where the music stops and she apologizes.
Instead of stopping the music and playing it perfectly from the beginning
(like most musicians would do)
Conor isnt really frightened by imperfection.
He's not bothered by sounding fake or messing up.
Therefore, he exclaims "Its okay" and immediately starts up where they left off.
How cool is that?! (I dont know, maybe not)
